No, I'm not at a resort...

Although it may look like I'm at some exotic place this is actually a neighbor's pool! They live across the street from my sister and are kind enough to let people swim in their pool every so often. (When Ken saw it the other day, he told me to have fun at the 'resort'! :) )

Maya is a brave little soul and is insistent on going down the slide by herself!

Aliyah & her cousin Deanna!

Best Friends

Maya's best friend is her cousin, Deanna. It has been a lot of fun having Deanna over this summer and we are sad school is starting! Maya loves her so much and always wants to go to "DeDe's" house. Maya really loves the piggy-back rides!

Botany Pond

Okay, so I'm just now discovering Provo (thanks to my friend Marilyn). On the south side of BYU Campus, there is a Botany Pond with lots of ducks and a turtle (which a little boy caught...and was insistent on showing it to Maya!) Maya loved feeding the ducks while Aliyah played on the grass or watched in the stroller.

Ocassionally Maya will stop what she is doing to give her sister a hug. I really love to see the girls interact with each other.

Maya finds excitement in almost anything we do...even laundry! I love to see how much she enjoys life. I think one of the best parts about being a mom is that you get to play like a child again! :)

Golfing with the Girls

As many of you know, the girls spent a lot of time on the golf course with their dad this summer. He would take them almost every night in June & July so I could study for the Bar. It was fun to go with him the other day. The girls sure know what to do on the golf course!

Here is Maya on the driving range. She wants to hit the ball like dad.
The girls will usually just sit and play while dad swings away.

Aliyah LOVES to hold the golf ball! Ken will give her a ball to hold at each hole. She will usually just sit in the grass and play with it. (of course, now she's crawling all over the place)

I LOVE this picture! I told Ken to do what he would normally do if I wasn't there so I could take some pictures of what his summer was like. I laughed when I saw him plop both girls down next to him while he took a shot! :) The girls were great....like I said, they know what to do on a golf course!

Visit from Grandpa & Grandma

Ken & I are so lucky to have such wonderful grandparents nearby! Grandpa & Grandma Sonnenberg dropped by on Sunday to visit the girls. Maya just woke up from her nap and was acting a little shy. However, after Grandpa & Grandma left, she made a sad face and told me "I need Maya's grandma." It was really sweet! Thanks for coming by! :)

Endless Summer

Well, at least I wish the summer was endless! :) I feel like my summer has just began and I'm running around like crazy trying to catch up on all the fun things to do! :) Thanks to my sister-in-law Meghan, Maya & Aliyah had a fun playdate with their cousins, Kanyon & Scarlett. Sadly, I only got two pictures because Aliyah wanted to be held much of the time! Oh well.
Here's one of Aliyah & Kanyon. He was more interested in her than he has been before and it was fun to see them interact.

Here's one of Kanyon shutting Maya in the closet! She didn't seem to mind though! :)
Today we went to the Bean Museum in Provo with my friend Marilyn. She has three little girls and the two oldest play so well with Maya. We had such a fun time. We got there just in time to see the Reptile show! My brother, Jeff, would be proud because Maya didn't hesitate to pet the snakes and lizards! (Must be that Mink blood!)

Maya petting the California King Snake.
Of course, we had to stop at the BYU Creamery for dessert!
